Laparoscopy is a minimally-invasive surgical procedure in which a telescope-like device is inserted through a small incision near the navel to view the pelvic cavity, the ovaries, fallopian tubes and uterus. It is used for a variety of procedures including resection and hysterectomy for the treatment of endometriosis, removal of uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts, pelvic adhesive disease and fallopian tube disease.
